The company TRANSSION started working in Ukraine with the Tecno brand four years ago and since then has occupied its five percent of the smartphones market. She achieved this in the segment of budget models with price tags somewhere lower than Xiaomi. Yes, the processors and displays may have been supplied by B-tier manufacturers, but this did not affect the ability to perform simple everyday tasks. Therefore, it is not surprising that we now have the opportunity to get acquainted with such a popular representative of accessories as TWS headphones from Tecno.

Design and ergonomics

Tecno Hipods H3 headphones are no fundamentally different from other brands. True, the company chose not the most familiar design, and did not spare gloss on the charging case. Each earphone, having its own leg and rounded body, received a luminous circle. During operation, it can glow in several colors. Blue – when the ANC system is on, red – when it’s off. The LED turns off completely when Transparency mode is activated and the ambient audio environment is enhanced. The headphone housing is not afraid of small amounts of moisture thanks to IPX4 certification.

Tecno Hipods H3 are in-ear headphones with several ear pads of alternative sizes included. The headphone housing is large enough for this type of device. It may not fit securely in the user’s ear. But when firing in the sensory zone, there is no effect of “driving” into the ear canal. This was achieved through a peculiar asymmetry in the shape of the headphones and a fairly sensitive sensor.

The case is also not the most compact we’ve seen, although it doesn’t take up as much space in your pocket as some models. His headphones are placed horizontally, not vertically. Although the shapes are cast in such a way that it is impossible to confuse where to place the right and where the left earphone, there are also additional inscriptions about this.

From the very beginning, the lid had a slight play, but this is not a problem for the budget segment. As practice has shown, although the backlash increases over time, it does not affect the operation in any way. The headphones are charged using a pair of contacts on the legs, and the case itself is charged via USB-Type-C. The headphones and case are available in white and black.

Controls, modes, sound

In the illuminated circle on the headphones there is a touch zone, holding your finger on it for a few seconds, you can switch ANC modes. The audio is paused with a double tap. Calls are accepted with one touch. Butwith the volume and switching tracks will have to be done on a smartphone or watch. In this model, to activate the Bluetooth connection, the touch zones on the headphones need to be pressed with your finger for a couple of seconds.

The Hipods H3 model supports three modes of operation with external noise. There is a noise cancellation system that can be turned on or off. In the second case, you will hear the cordon but muffled due to the ear pads. There is a “transparency” mode with which the headphones enhance the sounds of the environment so that you can hear when someone is talking to you or a car is approaching on the road. The change of regimes is accompanied by the girl’s very unhurried pathetic voice.

The headphones produce enough bass. The mids and highs are not lost, but the clarity of the audio scene in these ranges is lacking. Electronic dance music, which is unknown how it should sound, as audiophiles say, sounds very good in Hipods H3. There is “pumping” and “mass”. But the shrill vocals and guitar riffs of the year sag in quality. It seems that the equalizer is set incorrectly, but the lack of clarity in the mids is observed both on the flat and on the frequency sliders set according to the style. Technically, there are no problems with voice transmission during calls. You can hear your interlocutors well. Noise reduction, in turn, does not interfere, but rather effectively reduces the sound intensity of others.

In terms of autonomy, the Tecno Hipods H3 has average performance on the market. This is 4 hours for the headphones and three more times they are equipped with charging from the case. A total of 16 hours, which is enough for a working day. It takes 1.5 hours to fully charge the case and the headphones in it.

Impressions

Tecno Hipods H3 is a good representative of budget fully wireless headphones. They work stably, the charge lasts for a full day. Like any mass-produced headphone models, you need to test their shape and not be surprised why your ears don’t hold. The sound quality is ok for this price. We have come across much weaker models than these and even slightly higher prices. Apparently, the speakers were configured with an eye to the popular format of electronic music. Well, they are even more sufficient for voice calls and videos.
