Jon Peddie Research: By the end of 2023, shipments of PC processors grew by 24%
06.03.24Analytical firm Jon Peddie Research (JPR) has summed up the results of the fourth quarter of 2023 in the segment of graphics cores for personal computers. The published press release provided information on the volume of supplies of all GPUs, including integrated graphics processor units.
According to JPR, 76.2 million video cores were shipped in the last three months of 2023, up 20% from the same period in 2022. This significant growth is due to an increase in processor shipments – 24% more CPUs were shipped last quarter than in October-December 2022.
Considering that laptop processors often have integrated graphics, GPU/iGPU shipments in the mobile segment grew by 32%, while in the desktop segment, volumes decreased by 1% relative to the end of 2022.
As for discrete video cards, information on the state of the market is not provided, but there is an increase in supply volumes of 6.8% compared to the third quarter of last year.
In the GPU/iGPU segment, Intel remains the leader with a market share of 67%, while NVIDIA and AMD occupy 18% and 15%, respectively.
