Path, not aim. Microsoft Surface Laptop and Surface Laptop Pro 2024 get Arm processors and Copilot+ PC crefeatures

Microsoft Corporation has announced its own laptop as part of the new Copilot+ PC concept. Within its framework, many manufacturers have already announced their devices. Microsoft’s devices are not popular, so talking about them in the front rows was not a priority. The Pro model is also a device in the form of a tablet-laptop with a plug-in keyboard and an overestimated cost.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 2024 is offered in the form of models with a display diagonal of 13.8 and 15 inches. The maximum brightness is 600 nits. The company claims that the new product is “80% faster than our previous generation” and offers “up to 22 hours of local video playback”. The laptop has a tactile touch panel. Unlike the MacBook Air, Microsoft said the device will support three 4K monitors – in addition to its own display.

The configuration can include a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus or Elite processor, from 16 to 64 GB of RAM and a storage capacity from 256 GB to 1 TB. The device is equipped with a touch screen, a Wi-Fi 7 wireless module and a Copilot button.

Surface Laptop will provide access to native versions of Adobe’s flagship programs: Photoshop, Lightroom, Firefly and Express are available now, with Illustrator and Premiere Pro coming later in June. Microsoft says Copilot+ PC systems will get Windows AI features before their Intel counterparts.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop starts at $999 for the 13.8-inch model and $1,199.99 for the 15-inch version. The novelty is already available for pre-order, and the actual sale will begin on June 18.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Pro received an OLED screen, Wi-Fi 7 support and a new Surface Pro Flex Keyboard. The tablet has two USB 4 ports and comes in four colors. It also comes with significantly improved cameras: an ultra-wide-angle and 10MP sensor on the back, and a quad HD camera on the front, which Microsoft intends to use for many AI purposes.

The price of the Surface Pro starts at $999 for a model with an LCD display, a Snapdragon X Plus processor, 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The model with Snapdragon X Elite and OLED screen costs from $1,500, and the maximum configuration – with 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, platinum color – will cost $2,100.

The new Flex Keyboard, which costs $450 and comes with a thin stylus, works both connected and disconnected from the tablet.
