Facebook has allowed users to disable red notification icons and remove navigation bar tabs of their choice in the mobile app for iOS devices. The update will arrive on Android in the next few weeks.

To turn off red notification icons, you need to open Settings & Privacy, then Settings, Notifications, and Notification Settings. You can choose which tabs you want to display the number of unread notifications in: groups, friend requests, or everywhere.

You can also remove the “Store”, “Groups”, “Events”, “Pages”, Watch and others tabs from the navigation panel. To do this, you need to open “Settings & Privacy”, then “Settings” and “Quick Links Bar”. You can also tap and hold the icon in the Quick Access Toolbar, and then use the pop-up menu to turn off notification icons or delete the tab.
