New Kia Sportage available in Europe with diesel and hybrid engines

Kia has unveiled the new 2022 Sportage crossover. The new product is built on the same platform that is used in the South Korean and American versions, but it is shorter and has visual differences. The steering system has been improved and a new electronically controlled suspension (ECS) has been implemented.
The overall dimensions of the European version are 4515 x 1865 x 1645 mm with a wheelbase of 2680 mm, while the car previously announced in the USA and South Korea has dimensions of 4660 x 1865 x 1660 mm with a wheelbase of 2755 mm. But the developers claim that there is still enough space inside due to a competent layout.
There are several hybrid and diesel variants available in the lineup. The plug-in Kia Sportage 2022 PHEV is equipped with a 180 hp 1.6 T-GDI turbocharged direct injection petrol engine and a 66.9 kW electric traction motor.
The power plant includes a battery with a capacity of 13.8 kWh. The combined power of the power plant is 265 hp. The classic Sportage HEV hybrid received the same engine and a 44.2-kilowatt traction electric motor, as well as a 1.49 kWh battery. The total power of the Sportage HEV power plant is 230 hp. The same engine is also available in the mild hybrid (MHEV) powertrain.
A 1.6-liter diesel engine with 115 or 136 hp will also be available. The transmission can be a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic.
The trunk volume has decreased by 46 liters, to 591 liters; with the rear seat fully folded, the luggage compartment volume increases to 1,780 liters. In Europe, for the first time, it will be possible to order an option with a black roof, in addition, buyers will have access to the GT-Line sports package.
The multimedia system and instrument panel are presented on two 12.3-inch screens (the previously released version was equipped with 10.25-inch screens). There is a place for wireless smartphone charging with a power of 15 W.
Sales of the car in Europe will start at the end of the year, prices will be announced later.
