Steam has improved the bin and added the ability to hide games from friends
06.03.24Valve has released an update for the Steam platform, which added several new features. The developers made adjustments and improvements based on user feedback during beta testing.
Downloadable content for private apps will now also be private by default, but users can change this setting in the app properties on the game’s library page.
The update also adds a special indicator at the top of the friends list, which will help the user not to forget about the current privacy status while playing a private game. These new features are live now and will appear the next time you log into Steam, including the mobile app and Steam Deck.
The developers also continue to improve the platform and encourage users to share their thoughts and suggestions to improve the ordering process and overall Steam experience.
New Steam Features
- Combined gifts option, which allows you to buy games for several friends (and yourself) at the same time without having to place multiple orders through the cart – all in one dialog window;
-
One cart across all devices: Cart contents are now synced across all devices with access to a Steam account (including Deck and the mobile app);
-
Private applications: a new profile privacy option in case, which allows you to hide individual shameful games (18+) in the library from friends and everyone else;
- Private purchases: games can be made private even before purchase by labeling them accordingly before placing an order so that it does not show up in your friends’ feed.
