How to control your smartphone with spells from Harry Potter
11.11.16
Google has added several new “magical” features to its services specifically for the premiere of the new film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” based on the book by J. K. Rowling. Users of Android devices will be able to control their phone using spells, see New York at the beginning of the last century on maps, and play a themed quest in virtual reality.
Users of the movie voice control service on Android will have a new feature: they will be able to control their phone using spells from the Harry Potter books. Now, to turn on the flashlight on your smartphone, just cast the spell “Lumos”, and “Nox” to turn it off. You can switch your phone to silent mode using the Silencio spell.

In addition, Google has added a magical element to its Street View service. Now by entering “fantastic beasts” on the map, you can see the streets and interiors of New York in 1926 as they are shown in the film. For example, Potter fans will be able to visit the US Magical Congress and the apartment where Tina and Queenie Goldstein, the main characters of the film, live.

It is also reported that a themed quest game based on the film will be released on the Google Daydream virtual reality platform in November.
