Ukrainian-language Twitch sets record for number of views
02.05.25
According to the results of the first quarter of 2025, the Ukrainian-language segment of the Twitch platform reached historical highs. According to the Streams Charts report, streams in Ukrainian not only gained a record number of viewing hours, but also attracted the largest number of unique authorized viewers in the entire history of observations.
The total volume of broadcast viewing was 16.6 million hours. For comparison, at the beginning of 2022 this figure was 830 thousand hours, and in the second quarter of the same year – over 2.3 million. Such a jump in three years indicates a steady interest in content in the Ukrainian language.
In parallel, another record for the number of unique viewers was updated. In three months, Twitch registered 1.47 million authorized users who watched Ukrainian-language broadcasts. The previous record, set in the first quarter of 2024, was 1.4 million, helped by the Ukrainian team Natus Vincere’s victory at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.
Streaming activity declined slightly in the second half of 2024, as power outages meant Ukrainian streamers were less likely to stream, and viewers had fewer opportunities to join in.
Twitch has also helped esports with its current growth. In particular, a number of large-scale Counter-Strike 2 tournaments featuring Natus Vincere were actively broadcast in Ukrainian, attracting a wide audience.
