31.10.20
iOS’s share of the mobile operating system market is 24.99%, and Android’s is 74.43%. At the same time, during the first three quarters of 2020, spending by iOS users in the Apple App Store was twice as high as spending by Android users on the Google Play Store.
In the first half of the year, App Store revenue was $32.8 billion, Google Play revenue was $17.3 billion. The ratio remained the same in the last quarter, when the Apple App Store earned $19 billion, and Google Play earned $10.3 billion.
As a result, Apple App Store revenue for the first nine months of this year amounted to $51.8 billion. Google Play store users left $27.6 billion in it during the same time.
In total, during the specified period, 108 billion first installations of mobile applications were recorded (that is, repeated downloads of already installed applications are not taken into account). It is noteworthy that only 26.5 billion of them come from the App Store, and 81.5 billion from the Google Play Store.
