Reddit user Unchecked_arrogance submitted a unique project in which an old Sony cassette deck was turned into a wireless receiver using a Raspberry Pi. The result is a combination of old cassette deck functionality and modern technology.

The Raspberry Pi provides touchscreen functionality, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, and adds USB and Ethernet ports on the rear panel for analog and digital output. The project involves using a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and a Sony TC-WR770 cassette deck with a touchpad installed and an SSD for media storage.

For the project we used a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and a Sony TC-WR770 tape deck, which has two slots for cassettes. Instead of one, Unchecked_arrogance installed a 4.3″ touch panel with a custom plexiglass frame, as well as an SSD for media storage.
