MediaTek Dimensity 8250 5G: processor for mid-range smartphones with support for cameras up to 320 megapixels

MediaTek has unveiled a new processor for mid-range devices called the Dimensity 8250 5G, which is the successor to the Dimensity 8200.

Equipped with eight cores, this chip is built on a 4-nanometer process technology and operates at a maximum clock speed of 3.1 GHz. It features Mali-G610 MC6 GPU for smooth rendering and APU 580 for more efficient processing of AI functions.

The Dimensity 8250 5G supports cameras up to 320MP and is capable of recording 4K 60fps HDR video. In addition, smartphones running on the new SoC can support displays with refresh rates up to 120Hz and WQHD+ resolution or up to 180Hz and Full HD+ resolution. In addition to this, the SoC is equipped with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

According to rumors, OPPO Reno 12 will be the first smartphone to receive the Dimensity 8250 5G chip. The device is expected to hit the market in the coming weeks.
