Xiaomi Selfie Stick review

Xiaomi Selfie Stick 02

Writing a review about a selfie stick doesn’t seem strange today. Although we will immediately stipulate that we will not partake with this. But selfies, like sticks for them, are everywhere, and therefore a trend. It is quite expected that this accessory was banned in many museums and institutions. A stick with a smartphone sticking out is not always safe near masterpieces worth millions of dollars. Well, to get one on the head while riding a roller coaster at Disneyland not funny. On the other hand, Xiaomi, like a locomotive, is crashing into the mobile device market, simultaneously distributing popular accessories. The classic type of these is the Xiaomi Selfie Stick.

Xiaomi Selfie Stick 01

The case is made in a telescopic form factor. Pull-out part made of metal. By the way, from the very beginning she was a little loose. So we did not appreciate the quality of Xiaomi in this accessory. The maximum length when unfolded is 72 cm. The white components are made of plastic, and the handle is covered with hard rubber. This rubber can be blue, dark gray and almost white, like ours. White, as you can see, is slightly grayish. At the end there is a loop for a rope so as not to drop the structure with the smartphone. The total weight of the stick ended up being 150 g.

Xiaomi Selfie Stick 04

This version of the selfie stick is no different from its competitors. It is intended for smartphones. The clamp on top is designed for smartphones with screen diagonals from 4 to 5.5 inches. It works due to a pressure spring and it is likely that over time, the grip may weaken and the smarts will begin to fly out. By the way, it is not suitable for mounting action cameras. Maybe just keep it in a waterproof case, but we recommend securing it with insurance.

Xiaomi Selfie Stick 05

Xiaomi Selfie Stick has Bluetooth to connect the shutter button. To turn it on, you just need to hold it down. Switching on will be signaled by a flashing blue backlight of the button. The built-in battery powers only the transmitter and the backlight diode, so 55 mAh was enough for us for a week of occasional use. For charging, there is a MicroUSB connector at the end of the handle.

Xiaomi Selfie Stick 03

The price for such an accessory is acceptable for the Ukrainian market. And, as Xiaomi expects, the Bluetooth version is even cheaper than competitors by 50-100 UAH. So, if you want to build a collection of Xiaomi devices, this is a worthy addition.
