Indian startup Pixelpaw Labs has introduced the concept of an unusual device – a computer mouse Phase, which, if necessary, and when necessary.

In normal mode, the device resembles a standard mouse, although it differs in shape – the body is wider, and there is no familiar scroll wheel. The design allows you to divide the body into two halves, each of which becomes part of the gamepad.

Transformation and control elements

In controller mode, the Phase is similar in layout to VR solutions: a joystick, buttons, D-pad, and triggers are provided. Instead of a scroll wheel, a touchpad on the left key is used, which performs a similar function.

There are 18 buttons in total. A separate Shift button allows you to assign alternative commands, effectively doubling the number of available actions. Connection is via Bluetooth with the ability to work with three devices at once.

Autonomy is claimed at up to 72 hours, charging via USB-C. The device can also be used as a wired adapter for a PC, reducing input lag in competitive games. An optical sensor with a resolution of up to 16,000 DPI and a polling rate of 1000 Hz provides precise positioning. Function settings are available via proprietary software.

In parallel, Pixelpaw Labs is developing the Phasegrip accessory. This mount will allow you to fix a smartphone between the two halves of the controller, turning it into a portable gaming system by analogy with telescopic gamepads.

The project is at the patenting and production preparation stage. Ahead is design testing, certification and the launch of serial production. According to the developers, the device may enter the market no earlier than in 9-10 months.

Funding is planned through the Kickstarter platform. The estimated price will be $159, and deliveries are expected between December 2026 and January 2027. In the first phase, delivery will be available in a number of countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan.
