Xiaomi Debuts First NAS with 60TB Capacity and 2.5GbE Port

Xiaomi has expanded its ecosystem by introducing its first network-attached storage (NAS) device, dubbed Smart Storage. The product was previously announced during a crowdfunding campaign in July 2026 and is now available for purchase.

What Is Xiaomi Smart Storage

Smart Storage is a dual-bay NAS server designed for home use. The system supports both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SATA drives. Each bay can accommodate a drive with a capacity of up to 30TB, providing a total storage capacity of up to 60TB. Ready-made configurations pre-installed with hard drives are also available.

The device measures 200.5 x 85 x 161 mm and weighs approximately 2.3 kg. The chassis features a sleek aluminum design, highlighting its compact form factor for a dual-bay model.

Specs and Connectivity

The system is powered by a Realtek RTD1619B processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Connectivity specifications include:

• One 2.5GbE Ethernet port for high-speed data transfer.
• HDMI 1.4 port supporting 4K video playback at 30Hz.
• USB-A 3.0 port.

Media and Security Features

The device is optimized for content management: it supports 4K HDR10 video playback, wireless streaming, and functions as a media center with automatic movie poster generation. Thanks to AI capabilities, the storage automatically organizes photos and supports integration with the HyperOS 3.0 ecosystem for phone data backups. Xiaomi camera owners can use the NAS as a surveillance center, capable of storing up to 360 days of footage from four camera streams.

The system allows for the creation of up to 16 user accounts with data separation for family members. Remote access is available via Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Android TV, with a free bandwidth limit of 40 Mbps. Compared to models like the Ugreen NASync DXP4800 GT (four bays) or the TerraMaster F2-425 Plus (sold diskless), Xiaomi’s solution is a highly specialized all-in-one consumer device.
