Nothing OS 5.0 Public Beta Surfaces for Nothing Phone (3)
28.08.26
Nothing developers have unveiled Nothing OS 5.0, an operating system based on the latest version of Android 17. Alongside the official announcement, the first stage of open beta testing is now available specifically for Nothing Phone (3) owners.
How to Install the Nothing OS 5.0 Beta
To access the new firmware testing, users must install the latest version of the Nothing Beta Hub (version 2.0) app. Once installed, follow these simple steps:
- Go to Settings > System > Nothing Beta Hub.
- Tap the “Check Version” button.
- Select “Join Beta.”
- Wait for the OTA update to appear. If it does not arrive automatically, go to Settings > System > System Update.

Beta Features and Risks
As this is “unfinished software,” users should expect potential bugs and instability. Developers strongly advise against installing this update on your primary device used for daily tasks. If you decide to proceed with the experiment, ensure you back up all important data first.
How to Roll Back to Stable
If you encounter critical issues while using the beta version, you can revert to the stable build of Nothing OS. To do this, navigate to Settings > System > Nothing Beta Hub and select the “Request Rollback” function.
