Samsung Rolls Out One UI 9 Beta 6 for Galaxy S26 Series

What’s New in One UI 9 Beta 6 for Galaxy S26

Samsung continues its active software testing cycle with the release of the sixth One UI 9 beta build for the flagship Galaxy S26 series. The update arrives two weeks after the release of the fifth beta version.

Key Specifications and Build Details

The current update weighs in at 851 MB and includes the latest Android security patches from August 5, 2026. Once installed, users will be running build number ZZHE. The beta is currently available to device owners in Germany, India, Poland, the UK, and Korea, with a rollout in the US expected shortly.

System Fixes and Enhancements

This sixth beta iteration focuses on resolving critical bugs identified during operation:

  • Fixed display issues with the “Now Brief” widget and the home screen.
  • Resolved an issue with saving photos in 24MP Expert RAW format at certain focal lengths.
  • Addressed crashes involving the camera widget.

AI Select Feature and Edge Panel Settings

A significant addition is the “Touch and hold for AI select” feature found under Settings > Display > Edge Panels. Enabling this toggle allows users to trigger AI tools simply by long-pressing on the Edge panel preview window.

If a user disables this option, it prevents accidental AI Select activations, while the feature remains accessible via the shortcut on the Edge panel itself.

What Is AI Select?

AI Select represents an evolution of the Smart Select tool. It allows the user to:

  • Select any area of the screen to extract text.
  • Create animated GIFs from playing videos.
  • Transfer images directly into Generative Edit and Drawing Assist functions.

In terms of its philosophy, the tool is similar to the Google Circle to Search feature, offering a more advanced level of interaction with on-screen content.
