BYD Da Han Debuts With 9-Minute Charge and 1,000 km Range
26.08.26
BYD has announced the launch of its flagship electric sedan, the Da Han, designed as a direct competitor to premium models like the Mercedes-Benz EQS and BMW i7. This executive-class vehicle from the Dynasty lineup is already capturing global attention with its high-end specifications.
What Is the BYD Da Han?
The Da Han is a full-size electric sedan measuring 5.26 meters (17.3 feet) in length. The vehicle is built on BYD’s second-generation battery platform, the LFP Blade Battery, with a capacity of 102.3 kWh. Engineers have managed to achieve an impressive drag coefficient of 0.197.
Technical Specs and Performance
The model is available in two main configurations:
- Rear-Wheel Drive: 370 kW (496 hp) power output with a range of up to 626 miles under the CLTC cycle.
- All-Wheel Drive: Dual motors with a combined 570 kW (764 hp). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, with a top speed reaching 168 mph.
Despite its large dimensions (123-inch wheelbase), maneuverability is enhanced by a rear-wheel steering system and the DiSus-A air suspension, allowing the car to turn with a diameter of just 16.2 feet.
Innovative “Flash Charging” System
A key feature of the BYD Da Han is its 1000V architecture, which enables the “Flash Charging” system. At 1500 kW stations, the EV can draw up to 1000 kW of energy. This reduces the time to charge from 10% to 97% to a record-breaking 9 minutes. Even in cold temperatures (-22°F), charging from 20% to 97% takes only 3 minutes longer.
BYD Da Han Pricing
Pre-sales have already opened in China:
- Base Version: approximately 1,549,000 ₴ ($36,900).
- Flagship AWD Model: approximately 1,860,000 ₴ ($44,300).
Official releases for other markets have not yet been announced. It is expected that after duties, logistics, and taxes, retail prices outside of China will be significantly higher.
