Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra Chip Specs

The Poco F9 Ultra will feature the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset—the same processor found in its predecessor, the Poco F8 Ultra. Meanwhile, the Poco F9 Pro is moving to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-series.

According to the manufacturer, the V-series offers a higher CPU clock speed compared to the standard Elite Gen 5 while maintaining the same core count. However, there are differences in the graphics subsystem: the GPU in the V-series is 33% more compact, features 8 compute units (instead of 12), and has less dedicated graphics memory (12 MB vs. 18 MB in the standard version).

Connection to Redmi K100 and Launch Date

These new Poco devices will serve as global versions of the Chinese Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max smartphones. The official presentation of the Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra is scheduled for September 1.

Colors and Positioning

The smartphones will come in vibrant color options: the Poco F9 Pro features an “Aurora Green” finish, while the high-end Poco F9 Ultra will be available in “Dark Cherry.” Currently, Poco is prioritizing increased CPU performance for the Pro version, while keeping the F9 Ultra on the proven Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 foundation.
