Redmi 17C 5G Debuts With Dimensity 6300 and 6000mAh Battery

Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Redmi 17C 5G, a new budget smartphone with 5G support, which serves as a direct 5G counterpart to the Redmi 17C 4G model.

This smartphone is aimed at those looking for a balanced device with a large screen and a long-lasting battery. The handset features updated hardware and fresh software, making it a key addition to the brand’s budget-friendly lineup.

Specs and Technical Capabilities

The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and the UFS 2.2 internal storage is available in 64GB or 128GB versions, expandable via a microSD card. It also includes a classic headphone jack.

The display is a 6.9-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 810 nits. An 8-megapixel front-facing camera is housed in a small waterdrop notch. On the back, there is a 50-megapixel primary camera.

The HyperOS 3 software is based on Android 16. The device is powered by a massive 6000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Additionally, the device is protected against dust and splashes with an IP64 rating.

Pricing and Availability

Currently, the Redmi 17C 5G is available in Singapore for 279 Singapore dollars ($220 / €209 / 8645 UAH). The smartphone comes in three colors: black, brown (eco-leather version), and purple. The model is expected to arrive in Ukraine soon. However, one shouldn’t count on such a low price, as its 4G predecessor, the Redmi 4G, currently retails for just under 11,000 UAH. Nevertheless, it is possible that the price of the 4G version may drop slightly following the launch of the 5G model.

The standout features include the shift to the 5G-capable Dimensity 6300 chipset and a reduced battery capacity of 6000mAh (compared to the 7500mAh battery in the Redmi 4G). However, 6000mAh is more than enough to handle daily tasks for an extended period.
