iPhone 18 Price Hike Surfaces: $100 Increase Expected

The new iPhone 18 series, expected to be unveiled in September, is likely to cost more than its predecessors. The price hike is driven by objective economic factors, specifically the rising cost of smartphone components.

Apple has long attempted to keep prices stable by absorbing additional costs. However, the company is now forced to rethink its strategy as margins have tightened and the cost of RAM and NAND memory chips continues to climb. Similar steps have already been taken by other smartphone manufacturers, including Samsung and Google.

Why Are iPhone 18 Prices Rising?

The price increase is dictated by market necessity. Back in June, Apple already raised prices for its Mac and iPad lines for similar reasons—due to the uncontrollable rise in microchip costs. Now, this trend has reached the iPhone segment. Analysts note that Apple can no longer absorb rising costs without impacting profitability, leading to the decision to partially pass these expenses on to end users.

How Much Will the iPhone 18 Series Cost?

According to information from several reputable sources, the base price of every model in the iPhone 18 series will increase by $100. Preliminary data suggests the starting price for the iPhone 18 Pro could be $1,199 (€1,110 or 49,460 UAH).

Will Customers Still Buy the iPhone 18 at New Prices?

Despite the $100 hike, experts consider this jump a “conservative adjustment.” Compared to the offerings from other major players in the smartphone market, Apple will maintain its devices within a relevant price bracket. A loyal user base and the current market context allow the company to implement this adjustment without risking its competitive edge against Samsung or Google, both of which have previously adjusted their pricing upward.
