Garmin Launches Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro: Up to 57 Days of Battery Life and New Titanium Standard

Garmin has officially introduced its new generation of sports smartwatches — the Garmin Fenix 9 and the advanced Fenix 9 Pro. The new models feature improved display specifications, increased memory capacity, and expanded activity monitoring functions.

What’s New in the Garmin Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro

The Fenix 9 is built with a fiber-reinforced polymer case and a titanium back cover. The device is equipped with a display twice as bright as its predecessor, protected by sapphire glass. The watch features sealed buttons and is water-resistant up to 40 meters.

Compared to the Fenix 8, RAM has increased by 50%, and the mapping engine now operates 30% faster. The internal memory for maps and data is 64 GB, which is double that of the previous generation. The Fenix 9 Pro model features a unique full-titanium body and the largest AMOLED screen in the Fenix lineup.

The watches are available in three sizes: 43 mm, 47 mm, and 51 mm.

Technical Specs and Features

Engineers have added the Garmin Epic feature: you can now group activity logs over long periods, add photos, and share them with friends. New metrics for indoor rowing have been implemented, along with expanded options for rucking workouts and advanced endurance tracking logic using endurance “zones” and “curves.”

The Fenix 9 Pro distinguishes itself with an improved display featuring a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The 51mm version uses a 1.5-inch screen. Key features of the Pro models include:

  • Solar charging (on select versions), extending battery life to weeks.
  • inReach connectivity and LiveTrack notifications via LTE.
  • Garmin Locate function.
  • Real-time weather forecasts for selected locations.
  • Access to Garmin Response 24/7 emergency assistance.

Pricing for the New Garmin Watches

The starting price for the base Fenix 9 model is $999.99 (924 €, 42,165 UAH), while the Fenix 9 Pro is available starting at $1,099.99 (1,016 €, 46,381 UAH).

Battery Life

Maximum battery life in smartwatch mode for the Fenix 9 is 29 days, and 31 days for the Fenix 9 Pro version. Using models equipped with solar panels allows for an extended battery life of up to a record-breaking 57 days.

Battery Performance Comparison

Model Battery Life (Smartwatch Mode)
Garmin Fenix 9 up to 29 days
Garmin Fenix 9 Pro up to 31 days
Garmin Fenix 9 Pro (Solar) up to 57 days

If you require a combination of high performance, significantly increased memory, an improved display, and advanced safety systems for complex training, the new models will be an excellent upgrade for your sports arsenal.
