The flagship Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has seen a marked rise in global market popularity. For the second quarter of 2026, the smartphone secured fourth place in the list of best-selling models, becoming the leader among Android devices and significantly outperforming its predecessor (according to a Counterpoint Research report).
The Drivers of Success
The rankings were topped by the iPhone 17 series: the standard iPhone 17 (6% of global sales), iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Pro. Galaxy S26 Ultra managed to climb 5 spots compared to the performance of its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which sat in only ninth place during Q2 2025. The S26 Ultra version accounted for over half of the total sales for the entire Galaxy S26 lineup.

Counterpoint Research experts attribute the flagship’s commercial success to several strategic factors:
- Introduction of the innovative Privacy Display feature.
- Expanded artificial intelligence capabilities.
- Samsung’s aggressive marketing strategy.
It is worth noting that the market figures for the Galaxy S26 series are influenced by a shifted launch schedule: the model hit the market later than last year’s series, meaning its peak initial sales fell precisely within the second quarter of 2026.
Release Date and Pricing
Sales of the flagship series in Ukraine began on March 18, 2026. At launch, the price for the Galaxy S26 Ultra in the 256GB configuration was set at 64,999 UAH.
Galaxy S26 Ultra has firmly established itself among the major players in the global market, proving that even amidst a general decline in sales, consumers are willing to choose high-end flagships if they offer genuinely significant improvements. Samsung has succeeded not only in maintaining interest in its top-tier model but also in driving it to lead the Android segment.
