Sony introduces first PlayStation monitor
14.11.25
Sony has announced the release of the first gaming monitor under the PlayStation brand, which will become part of the official ecosystem for gamers. The novelty is called the PlayStation Gaming Monitor and is aimed at both console users and PC owners.
The monitor is equipped with a 27-inch IPS panel with a QHD resolution (2560×1440 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz for PC and MacOS, while on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro the frame rate is limited to 120 Hz. The display supports HDR, but the company did not specify which standard is used.
One of the key features of the device will be a built-in docking station for wireless charging of DualSense controllers, which emphasizes close integration with Sony’s game consoles. In addition, the monitor is equipped with two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, two USB-A and one USB-C, which supports PlayStation Link – the brand’s proprietary technology for wirelessly connecting headphones, speakers and other compatible accessories.
The PlayStation Gaming Monitor is expected to go on sale in 2026, initially in the US and Japan. Sony has not yet revealed the cost of the device, but experts predict that the novelty will be positioned in the premium segment of the gaming display market.
