Phosgo Go 5 Ultra: Electric bike on solar batteries
25.06.26
While other manufacturers of electric vehicles try to hide battery packs as much as possible in the supporting frame or minimize the total weight of two-wheeled systems, the ambitious startup Phosgo is introducing a truly revolutionary energy source. The original Phosgo Go 5 Ultra electric bicycle is presented – as the project engineers assure, it is the first serial electric bike in its class with a built-in solar energy capture system. Instead of using the bulky roofs of the canopies, the photocells were succinctly integrated directly inside the discs, carefully filling the voids in the area of the spokes.
Phosgo Go 5 Ultra concept
The key technological advantage of the electric bike was the innovative architecture of the arrangement of the silicon platforms that catch in the planes of the wheel rims. Specialists took care of the continuity of charging, capable of generating a constant current both when the electric bike is in stationary storage in the area of bright direct rays, and directly during intensive use in road conditions. In order for the transformation of the accumulated light potential to function with minimal network losses in the dynamic mode, the system was retrofitted with an efficient MPPT controller. Automation adjusts energy generation, ensuring productive efficiency in refracted sunlight and alternating shade.
Technical specifications

Naturally, the small total area of the panels cannot compete in terms of current speed with a full-fledged charging unit powered by an outlet. However, this innovative solar module is an ideal ally when overcoming solid urban transitions. The presence of a catching solar system has increased the measurable range of autonomous functioning of the bicycle in the hybrid cycle up to a significant 193 kilometers. A power reserve of a similar caliber is characteristic of exclusively heavy versions of electric mopeds, which distinguishes the innovative development among the everyday light two-wheeled bicycle segment. At the heart of the system is a battery with a standard energy reserve of 720 W·h, which is coordinated during one of the 5 built-in pedal assist shifts.
Differences of models for the US market and EU regulatory bodies
The authors from Phosgo had to significantly refine the engine configuration for the full export of motorcycles in the jurisdiction of Europe and the USA within the framework of road permits:
- U.S. variation of the Ultra: A real power flagship with the signature Bafang carriage motor placed in the area of the pedal shaft. Bafang’s nominal power output limit is 750W, allowing for a temporary peak output above the 1L mark. (910 W) with a maximum thrust of up to 150 Nm. The speed limit here is traditionally limited by a regulated barrier at the 45 km/h mark.
- European version for EU: This modification is imported with a reduced class Bafang M430 electric motor with a nominal output of 250 W and a maximum torque of 120 Nm. The segment of developing indicators will not allow an electric bicycle to cross the speed limit of 25 km/h established by the EU.
Smart functions
The Go 5 Ultra model is equipped with a full-fledged electronic ecosystem, which brings the piloting experience to the technological level of a good modern flagship mobile device:
- Built-in GPS satellite navigator with stable signal reception and transmission using 4G/Bluetooth wireless telemetry;
- Autonomous management package that duplicates statistics on the smartphone display;
- Remote control of wheel blockers and internal alarm platoon;
- A remote AI assistant that supports the processing of voice phrases while driving.
In addition to the leading premium assembly, the developer has predicted the release of its lightweight counterpart called Phosgo Go 5. This device has a slightly reduced modification of the 480 Wh battery, due to which the potential distance mark is reduced to the basic 95 kilometers on one refueling without refueling.
Release date and price
The starting price for an advanced technical implementation of eco-transport from the Phosgo startup is the following numbers:
- The version of the flagship Phosgo Go 5 Ultra gradation is announced at a starting price of UAH 246,000 ($5,999);
- The basic road version under the code name Go 5 is estimated by the market office at UAH 205,000 ($4,999).
Despite the tight budget of the devices of the future, the company’s promotional campaign to attract early loyalty includes phenomenal welcome discounts of up to 63%. The offer allows you to buy the revolutionary Ultra flagship model for a more affordable 90,000 UAH ($2,199). The creators have planned the official start of large-scale deliveries to customers on July 27 of this year.
Is it worth buying the Phosgo Go 5 Ultra electric bike?
The integration of catching light platforms directly inside the disc undoubtedly makes Phosgo Go 5 Ultra an incredibly bright representative of the new century of personal electric mobility. It fully covers the daily pool of suburban cycle routes and relieves its driver of daily lead charges by constantly refueling right under the street light. If you are looking to upgrade to an original green car, then participating in a crowdfunding promo with a reduced price barrier is the best option with a quick opportunity to return the monetary value during long-term urban operation.
