Minisforum M1-1390 Packs Gaming Laptop Power into Mini PC

Minisforum M1-1390: мощь игрового Core i9-13900HX в миниатюрном корпусе

Minisforum has updated its M1 series of compact computers, proving that you don’t need a bulky desktop tower to achieve serious performance. The new Minisforum M1-1390 is equipped with the top-tier Intel Core i9-13900HX processor, which until now was mostly found in massive gaming laptops.

Technical Specifications

The switch to the Intel Core i9-13900HX marks a significant evolutionary step compared to the previous M1-1295 model, which ran on the Core i9-12950HX. The new model offers more efficiency cores and higher clock speeds. This computing power allows the system to easily handle even resource-intensive tasks in an ultra-compact format.

Minisforum engineers have maintained flexibility in system configuration. The chassis includes:

  • Two SO-DIMM slots for DDR4 RAM, allowing users to expand memory capacity themselves.
  • Two M.2 2280 slots with PCIe Gen4 ×4 interface support for high-speed storage.

This design approach makes the device convenient for future upgrades.

Interfaces and Network Capabilities

Despite its compact size, the port selection includes everything necessary for productive work:

  • Ethernet (RJ45) port with 2.5 Gbps bandwidth.
  • Full-function USB-C port with 10 Gbps speed.
  • Four USB-A ports: two high-speed (10 Gbps) and two 480 Mbps ports for basic peripherals.
  • DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 TMDS video outputs for monitors.
  • Three dedicated 4mm audio jacks.

Wireless connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 standards.

Pricing and Available Versions

Device pricing varies depending on the configuration:

  • Base Barebone version (no RAM or storage): $400.
  • Mid-range configuration (16GB RAM and 500GB SSD): $600.
  • Top-tier configuration (32GB RAM and 1TB SSD): $767.

The Minisforum M1-1390 demonstrates how far compact computers have come. The high-performance Core i9-13900HX, the ability to self-upgrade memory and storage, and a rich set of ports make this model an interesting solution for resource-intensive tasks. Furthermore, the price of the top-tier configuration remains significantly lower than many full-sized workstations with comparable performance.
