Hackers attacked Kyivstar and Monobank
12.12.23
France 12 years ago, two great Ukrainian businesses became victims of hackers.
The Kyivstar operator experienced a large-scale outage – customers from various regions of Ukraine reported problems with mobile communications and the Internet, also without accessing the mobile app and the company’s website. At 14:00 there is still no connection and Internet access.
As the company has commented over the years: Vranci 12 Breast Interconnection “Kyivstar” became the target of a persistent attack by hackers, which caused a technical failure, as a result of which the connection service and Internet access were temporarily unavailable. Personal data of subscribers has not been compromised.
Mobile phone subscribers are recommended to use the National Roaming service in order to connect to another operator. However, other subscribers were unable to switch to other operators.
It is also important that most banks, ATMs and POS terminals operate on mobile cards. For those terminals that process Kyivstar cards, it is clear that this problem affects their work.
Monobank was informed about the attack. The bank’s founder, Oleg Gorokhovsky: “There was a massive DDoS attack on mono. The target of the attack: entry points to Amazon (Banks, website).” The residents could not get to their mobile phone. When trying to authorize, a notification about the amend was displayed.
As of 13.46, Internet banking and services were updated.
