Samsung phones to be packed with even more unremovable bloatware

Samsung smartphone users will soon be faced with an expansion of the list of pre-installed applications on their devices. The corporation has officially announced an agreement with Amazon, according to which the Amazon Music application will be integrated directly into the firmware of new Galaxy smartphones around the world. The company presents this as an extension of the service for its customers, but in reality this leads to an increase in the amount of so-called bloatware – junk software that takes up space on the drive and which is often uninstallable.

Integration features and offers for users

Users who have the app pre-installed on their devices or who download it through the Galaxy Store will receive a bonus: three months of free access to Amazon Music Unlimited. This subscription offers access to over 100 million tracks without commercial breaks. After the trial period, the cost of the service is $12 (about 460 hryvnia) per month, and for Amazon Prime subscribers – $11 (about 420 hryvnia) per month. Perhaps this is not a lot of money for the US or European market, but not for Ukraine.

What’s included in the Samsung Galaxy package

Today, even such flagship devices as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, whose retail price in Ukraine is $1,330 (about 59,799 hryvnia), go on sale with a pre-installed set of secondary software. Often this list can duplicate the main functions of a smartphone. Already familiar examples of “bloated” software include:

  • Google Chrome and Samsung browser
  • Gmail and Samsung branded email
  • Google Play Store and Galaxy Store
  • Additional services like Audible, Microsoft OneDrive and Facebook App Manager

It is worth noting that depending on the specific retailer, the number of third-party applications on the device may further increase, creating additional inconvenience for gadget owners.

Well, why do we need this?

While for active users of Amazon services this step looks like a pleasant bonus, for most owners of Samsung equipment, especially in Ukraine, this means the appearance of another item on the list of applications that must be removed. The presence of a large number of unremovable “junk” programs remains a pressing problem that affects the purity of the user experience.
