Direct messages on Instagram can now be edited
05.03.24
Instagram users have a new feature that allows them to correct their mistakes in private messages within 15 minutes of sending. The announcement was made by Meta, which owns Instagram, on Monday.
Previously, if a user wanted to change his personal message, he had to copy, delete and resend with the changes. Now you just need to press and hold the message for the editing menu to appear. However, it will be clear that the message has been edited.
In addition to this feature, Instagram has added other features to improve communication in private messages. Users can now turn read receipts on and off, pin chats, and respond with stickers, GIFs, videos, photos, and voice messages.
This editing feature arrived in Instagram chats a few months after Meta brought it to Messenger. Even though cross-platform messaging between Instagram and Messenger has not been possible since December, both Meta-owned messaging apps continue to share a number of features.
