Leak: Samsung Exynos 2700 Surpasses Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 in Internal Benchmarks

Recent internal testing of the Samsung Exynos 2700 processor has sparked excitement within the Samsung LSI division. According to insider information, the new chipset has demonstrated superiority over two versions of the Qualcomm platform — the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.

What We Know About the Exynos 2700

Exynos 2700 will be the company’s new flagship solution, built on the SF2P process node — the second generation of the 2nm Gate-All-Around architecture. A successful launch of this chip will be a key tool for Samsung to attract third-party clients to its semiconductor foundries.

Benchmark Results: Performance and Efficiency

Comparative testing included evaluations of the CPU, GPU, NPU, and power consumption levels.

CPU and Graphics Performance

In the Geekbench 6.5 multi-core test, the Exynos 2700 showed results 9.5% higher than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and 19% better than the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 version. As for the GPU, in an unspecified benchmark, the Samsung chip outperformed the competitor’s Pro version by 5%.

Power-Limited Performance

When testing the GPU with a strict 2.5W power cap, the gap widened further: the Exynos 2700 proved to be 22% faster than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and 24% faster than the standard chip. During real-world scenario simulations, it was found that the Exynos consumes only 161 mA, compared to 185 mA for the Qualcomm solution.

Artificial Intelligence

Testing in AI tasks using the Llama 3.1 8B model confirmed Samsung’s lead, with query processing occurring 18% faster than the opponent’s chip.

Samsung Strategy and Costs

Qualcomm has officially confirmed rising costs for its chipsets for manufacturers. Given that the Samsung MX (Mobile Experience) division procures components independently, using in-house Exynos chips provides significant cost savings compared to Qualcomm products. Currently, Exynos powers 16-18% of Samsung’s device lineup, but Samsung aims to increase this share to optimize expenses.

Exynos Outlook

Given the results, it is highly likely that the Galaxy S27 smartphone series in 2025 will be equipped with the Exynos 2700 in Korea and Europe. There is also discussion regarding the integration of these processors into Samsung’s future foldable lineup. With gains in AI speed and reduced power consumption, the Exynos 2700 has every chance of becoming a balanced and competitive solution capable of challenging more expensive alternatives in consumer devices.
