Bigme Hibreak Dual 2: smartphone with two screens, 80 Hz E Ink and productive filling
13.07.26
The idea of creating a device that combines the functionality of a smartphone and the comfort of an e-book has been stirring up the market for a long time. However, attempts to implement it often ended in failure or compromise decisions. The Bigme company decided to take a risk and presented the Hibreak Dual 2 project on the Kickstarter platform – a smartphone for those who do not want to choose between reading on “electronic paper” and the multimedia capabilities of a modern gadget.
Positioning
The main concept of Hibreak Dual 2 is the combination of two fundamentally different displays in one case. The device is designed for users who are tired of straining their eyes while browsing social networks, but need full smartphone functionality to watch videos or play games.
Two displays: characteristics and technologies

The device is equipped with a main color E Ink screen with a diagonal of 6.13 inches with a resolution of 824 x 1648 pixels. The key feature was the declared refresh rate of 80 Hz – this is a serious step forward for E Ink panels, which should save the user from the feeling of a “slide show”.
On the other side is a secondary 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is activated when the specific capabilities of the E Ink matrix are limited, ensuring the usual display of dynamic content.
Hardware and features
Bigme Hibreak Dual 2 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 platform, which provides support for 5G networks and stable Android operation. The amount of RAM is 12 or 16 GB, which is more than enough for current tasks.

Key technical parameters
- Battery: 4450 mAh with 30W charging.
- Main camera: 50 MP for standard shooting.
- Front camera: 5 MP for video calls.
- Stylus: support for taking notes and drawing, turning your smartphone into a digital notebook.
- Communication: slot for two SIM cards.
Price

At the stage of fundraising through the crowdfunding platform, the price of Bigme Hibreak Dual 2 is UAH 25,000 ($560). The price is justified by the presence of two technological displays and a powerful processor. The main audience of the device is users who want to combine the functions of a smartphone and Kindle, as well as those who pay close attention to the comfort of their eyes while working with text. The question of the convenience of constantly switching between screens remains open and will depend on the skills of a particular user.
