TCL 27P2A Ultra – world’s first 1040Hz miniLED monitor
11.03.26
TCL has introduced a new gaming monitor 27P2A Ultra. The manufacturer claims that this is the world’s first display with miniLED technology, capable of operating with a refresh rate of up to 1040 Hz. The model is aimed at esports and users for whom the highest possible frame rate is important.
Frequency up to 1040 Hz and matrix features
The TCL 27P2A Ultra monitor has a 27-inch panel with a base resolution of 2K. However, the maximum refresh rate depends on the selected operating mode.
At a standard resolution of 2K, the display supports a frequency of up to 550 Hz. The 1040 Hz mode is available only when the resolution is reduced to 720p. This approach is typical for eSports devices: many professional players intentionally reduce the resolution and detail of graphics in order to increase the frame rate and reduce distracting visual elements.
Of particular note is the use of miniLED backlighting, which should provide more precise brightness control and improved contrast compared to traditional LCD panels.
Gaming features and AI options
TCL has also added a number of features designed for competitive gaming to the monitor. Among them are several tools based on artificial intelligence algorithms.
In particular, there is an automatic inversion of the color of the crosshair, which helps to maintain its visibility when the background changes. Accelerated dimming after bright flashes and a system for improving visibility in dark areas are also announced, which can be useful in shooters and other dynamic games.
There are already monitors on the market with a frequency of 1040 Hz, for example, the Samsung Odyssey G6. However, the TCL model became the first where a similar indicator is achieved when using a miniLED panel.
The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the cost of the TCL 27P2A Ultra and the timing of the start of sales.
