Samsung LPDDR5X memory has a speed of 10.7 Gbps
22.04.24Samsung Electronics has completed development of the industry’s fastest LPDDR5X memory chips. These new chips, manufactured using 12nm class technology, are claimed to have a data transfer rate of 10.7 Gbps per pin (LPDDR5X-10700 mode). Thanks to Samsung’s manufacturing standards, it was possible to increase the capacity of a single LPDDR5X BGA chip to 32 GB.
Samsung plans to launch serial production of LPDDR5X-10700 chips in the second half of this year. High-speed chips should find application in artificial intelligence systems, mobile gadgets, personal computers, automotive industry and other areas.
As Samsung emphasizes, compared to the previous generation LPDDR5X chips, the new products offer 25% better energy efficiency, more than 30% greater capacity and 25% better performance.
