Samsung Health adds Vitals, Cardio Load and Hearing Health to Galaxy Watch
08.06.26
The South Korean technology giant Samsung has announced a major update to the company’s Health program. The update is designed to radically expand the functionality of the Galaxy Watch smart watch, providing users with new artificial intelligence tools for in-depth control of key indicators of the body and training activity.
The large-scale update is designed to consolidate the collected fitness indicators and simplify the analysis of the daily physical condition of Galaxy Watch owners. The company announces the introduction of intelligent control functions, detailed heart tracking, an updated sports assistant and an improved hearing preservation system.
Detailed analysis of key functions of health monitoring
The updated smart software system includes five large-scale improvements and new indicators.
Sleep and Vitals Indicator
The most important decision was the introduction of the Vitals section. Previously, the app analyzed metrics separately to calculate energy, but now Samsung Health deeply analyzes 5 key biosignals at night: heart rate variability level, skin temperature during sleep, respiratory rate, standard heart rate, and blood oxygen concentration. Based on the collected log, the system sets the basic parameters of a particular user in a calm state. Smart alerts will be sent to the owner only when the algorithm detects sudden and unusual changes in parameters.

The night tracking function completely reformats the user’s approach to tracking the phases and quality of night sleep.
Analysis of the vascular system and Heart Health Score
Long-term wellness care enters a new phase with the Heart Health Score algorithm. It is the successor of the previously used proprietary vascular stress test. The daily general marker accumulates detailed activity during the day, the volume of physical sports activities, the percentage of the quality of night rest, and an up-to-date analysis of body weight composition. A final weighted score is broadcast to the user, which demonstrates in detail the real impact of the daily pattern of behavior on the body’s cardiovascular fitness in the long term.

Intensity regulation with Daily Cardio Load
Active fitness users will appreciate the benefits of the Daily Cardio Load scale. Its purpose is to accurately calculate the amount of stress load accumulated on the circulatory system, to determine the personal reserve of aerobic training, and also to prevent potential risks. Using the results of these mathematical predictions, the owner receives a ready-made road map: how productive today’s sports activities should be and what pause should be given to the muscles before physical work.

Selection of fitness plans through Fitness Index
The Fitness Index function provides control of real sports indicators from the point of view of a comparative database. The tracker continuously measures the amount of daily activity, pulse pattern in tension and aerobic endurance VO2 Max. The collected balance helps algorithms calculate the advantages of a person’s physical condition over the average spectrum of similar groups of people. The user can flexibly adjust his strategy thanks to AI recommendations.

Acoustic shield and hearing control Hearing Health
Samsung introduces a new element of Hearing Health as part of Galaxy smartwatches and complex audio devices. Using the hardware microphone array of the Galaxy Watch in a real environment, the tracker captures acoustic discomfort during trips in congested traffic, station halls or on sports tracks at high track power. Received signal reduction in time prevents critical noise shocks and protects the health of the user’s hearing organs.
Visual update and future-proofing technology
A large-scale step is a complete upgrade of the menu design of the program. The interface is organized around five sections: sleep depth, energy score, nutrition quality, depth of consciousness and key health characteristics. The home page will offer a set of fast, smart widgets with a personal Energy Score curated by AI algorithms.
The company has upgraded its existing food and product analysis tools. The Antioxidant Index graphical fill has received an improved visualization scale on the graph for the selected timeframe. The assessment of glycation end product utilization (AGEs skin age indicator system) finally received an automated cycle of silent overnight testing without active manual commands from the watch owner.
