Xiaomi Mijia Rich Mineral Water Purifier 2 Brings ‘Longevity Water’ to Your Tap

Xiaomi has expanded its home appliance lineup with the introduction of the Mijia Rich Mineral Water Purifier 2. The new model succeeds last year’s Mijia Water Purifier 2 1200G and focuses heavily on its “Bama-style mineralization” technology, designed to replicate the chemical composition of water from the Bama region, famous for its long-lived inhabitants.

Mineralization and Purification Tech

The system enriches water with six minerals: strontium, zinc, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and bicarbonate ions. The strontium content in the purified water is 0.2 mg/L or higher, which Xiaomi claims meets the standards for drinking mineral water. The manufacturer asserts that the mineralization process involves no synthetic chemicals, though these claims require independent verification.

Filtration is handled by a nine-stage dual-core system with a 0.0001-micron threshold. The device effectively removes over 99% of contaminants, including viruses, E. coli, microplastics, and PFAS. Additionally, the reverse osmosis (RO) membrane provides a 98.5% desalination rate.

Performance and Specifications

the water flow rate in the new model is 3.38 liters per minute (up from 3.2 liters in the previous version). The rated lifespan of the reverse osmosis membrane has also significantly increased, now lasting eight years compared to seven in the previous iteration.

Key Features

Like its predecessor, the new purifier comes with a smart faucet featuring a built-in total dissolved solids (TDS) sensor for real-time water quality monitoring. Control and filter status management are handled via a mobile app.

Release Date and Pricing

Sales in China are set to begin on September 15. The device is officially priced at 2,199 yuan ($327 / €303 / 13,460 ₴). The cost of replacement parts is also known: the eight-year RO filter will cost 1,099 yuan ($164 / €152 / 6,750 ₴), while the two-year PPC filter is priced at 299 yuan ($44.50 / €41 / 1,820 ₴). There is currently no information regarding a global release.
