Samsung began testing One UI 9 for Galaxy S23, S24, A56 and Fold7: what’s new to expect
22.06.26
Samsung is significantly expanding the range of preparations for the One UI 9 software update for its model range. At the moment, the current flagship Galaxy S26 models are already allowed to test the public build of One UI 9 Beta 3 and are the only devices involved in the open program. However, the South Korean manufacturer is not wasting time and behind the scenes is conducting intensive internal tests of new software for other generations and device lines.Samsung One UI 9 update review
Development of One UI 9 is progressing as planned. A large-scale test of compatibility with the future generation of interface based on the Android operating system has now involved a whole stack of the company’s modern devices. At the early internal phases of development, software undergoes in-depth testing. This allows you to timely detect hardware interaction errors on flexible displays, current versions of flagships and mid-budget models.
Which Samsung models are tested first: list of firmware versions
According to data leaks about Samsung update servers, One UI 9 firmware is being tested for the flagship of previous generations, folding new products and a series of the mid-segment. Below is a list of specific models with their associated early test system versions:
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7: the development process is underway with the assembly of F966USQUACZF3;
- Samsung Galaxy A56: an assembly has been created for this mid-budget smartphone A566BXXUBDZFB;
- Samsung Galaxy S23: the firmware version being tested is marked as S911BXXUAGZF9.
The update is already in preparation for the entire current Galaxy S24 line:
- For the standard Galaxy S24 an assembly has been created under the number S921BXXUFEZF7;
- The Plus version (Galaxy S24+) is being tested under the number S926BXXUFEZF7;
- Top flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra checks the assembly of S928BXXUFEZF7;
- The completely new Galaxy S24 FE received the firmware test marking S721BXXUCEZF7.
Features of development for other smartphones
The company’s engineers are focused not only on these devices. Parallel work to adapt the new shell is being carried out for a number of models at more budget and flagship levels. Developers are reported to be active in assembling codes for the following systems: Galaxy S25 series, entry-level and mid-range models – Galaxy A16 5G, Galaxy A17 5G, Galaxy A34, new version of Galaxy A57. In addition, Samsung has already begun internal adjustment of functionality for the upcoming sub-flagship Galaxy S26 FE.
Official release date of smartphones with stable One UI 9
As of today, it is completely unknown which model will join the ranks of public beta testing after the Galaxy S26 line of smartphones. But another technical nuance has been confirmed for certain: the first devices that will receive the One UI 9 build directly from the start of sales (straight out of the box) will be the long-awaited folding smartphones of the new season. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 models, as well as the productive Galaxy Z Fold8 devices and the top-end Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Insiders indicate that the debut and announcement of these innovative new products should take place in London during a technology event on July 22.
Conditions for updating to One UI 9
The official update policy of the South Korean technology leader remains unchanged – the new One UI 9 shell will be distributed as a classic over-the-air OTA software update completely free of charge to owners of all the above-mentioned gadgets around the world. By this time, the specifics of pricing for new folding smartphones of the new generation had not yet been officially disclosed by the company, since the devices are in the status of new products being prepared for display.
Is it worth switching to early builds: testing result
Samsung has moved quickly to develop a major software update package, bringing in devices from three different generations (S23, S24 and the latest Fold7) simultaneously. Despite such pleasant progress for fans, ordinary users are still strongly advised not to rush into installing intermediate unofficial software on their own: all these tested assemblies are created exclusively to solve purely technical and debugging internal problems of the manufacturer.
