Perplexity Health: AI Now Analyzes Your Apple Health Data for Medical Insights
22.03.26
Perplexity has officially announced the launch of Perplexity Health, a specialized feature engineered to provide medically accurate and evidence-based answers to complex health queries. By aggregating data from various applications, wearable devices, and health platforms, this AI-driven assistant tracks metrics and identifies trends over time. The primary goal of Perplexity Health is to deliver reliable, personalized health information tailored to the specific needs of each user.
Personalized Wellness and Platform Integration
A core component of this new service is its deep integration with Apple’s Health platform. Utilizing the Perplexity Computer—the company’s advanced AI agent tool—the system can generate customized fitness regimes, nutrition plans, and other wellness strategies based on the user’s biometric data. Currently, Perplexity Health is being rolled out exclusively to Pro and Max subscribers located in the United States.
While the service currently draws data from Apple Health, Fitbit, Ultrahuman, and Withings, Perplexity plans to expand its ecosystem. Integrations with other popular health services, such as Oura and Function, are expected to be implemented in the near future. This expansion will allow the AI to have a more comprehensive view of the user’s physiological state.
Medical Accuracy and Safety Standards
Recognizing the sensitivity of medical data, Perplexity has implemented rigorous standards to ensure the accuracy of its AI bot. The system has been trained on electronic health records from more than 1.7 million care providers, alongside premium medical literature, clinical guidelines, and peer-reviewed journals. To maintain these standards, the company established the Perplexity Health Advisory Board, consisting of physicians, researchers, and health tech experts who oversee content quality and clinical safeguards.
This major update follows Perplexity’s recent strategic partnership with Samsung, which saw the integration of its agentic AI capabilities into the Galaxy AI ecosystem. By combining vast medical databases with real-time user data, Perplexity aims to redefine how individuals interact with their personal health metrics.
