Samsung launches One UI 9 beta on Android 17 for Galaxy S26 in India and firmware updates in second beta package in other regions

The official software testing program based on the Android 17 operating system is entering the global international market. The latest One UI 9 beta program for the flagship Samsung Galaxy S26 family of devices has been expanded to India, which confirms the system’s plans to test new software. Previously, only residents of South Korea, Germany, Great Britain and several other EU countries received the right to evaluate the preliminary possibilities of the update.

What is it: overview of functionality and features of launching One UI 9 beta

The One UI 9 shell version is a comprehensive add-on from Samsung over the architectural framework of Android 17. This firmware is designed to early optimize graphics processes, increase the flexibility of customizing user menu elements and refine the basic smartphone platform. Thanks to this software, Galaxy S26 series users in selected regions can directly report bugs to developers before the global stable distribution begins.

Characteristics of the updated system and supported models

The first beta release of the new OS is available in India for Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and the top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra mobile phones. The packages accumulated by the system are marked with firmware S94xBXXU2ZZEQ and are supplemented with the latest official Android security package dated June 5, 2026. The size of the update is quite large – users will need to download more than 3.7 GB of data.

At the same time, in South Korea and the UK, the manufacturer initiated the transition to the One UI 9 Beta 2 update phase. This step is aimed at eliminating software bugs identified by early audiences. This file has a volume of about 1.6 GB with the same system security patch level (June 5, 2026).

Key differences in the version: bug fixes in the Beta 2 update

The developers officially confirmed the list of targeted software fixes in the assembly update. Below is a list of the six major fixes in the new build:

  • Frequent blocking of the system GPUWatch activity tracking panel has been completely fixed (the system problem with the pop-up notification has been fixed);
  • The standard functional options and scripts of the built-in Routine tool have been restored to proper stability;
  • Fixed a problem with distortion of the displayed content in the area of the general system status bar;
  • Fixed an annoying lock screen issue where the font of the screen clock used was no longer subject to manual change after the LockStar personalization panel was installed;
  • Reduced latency during batch formatting and mass uninstallation of messages;
  • Fixed the unpleasant physical shift of the lock screen clock downwards vertically on the display;
  • A software bug in access paths when going to the internal menu set of the Game Booster gaming service has been fixed.

Is it worth downloading One UI 9 beta

Mobile platforms from Samsung in the Galaxy S26 family demonstrate the best build and extensive graphics solutions at the level of high-end equipment. These are extremely high-quality premium devices for demanding owners. At the same time, you should rush to use the beta version carefully, understanding the risks. If you have the only personal smartphone S26 in your hands, which does not have a reserve as an alternative for the period of resolution of force majeure abnormal departures of the mobile shell in early revisions, it is rational to remain on the factory stable software and not update.

You can check the availability and install the beta version of One UI 9 in the section: Settings > Software update.
