NVIDIA introduced GeForce RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti video cards for laptops, the price should not exceed $1000
11.05.21
NVIDIA introduced the GeForce RTX 3050 and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti mobile video cards. The models are based on the GA107 GPU and belong to the initial segment of graphics accelerators based on the Ampere.
For the first time for GeForce xx50 models, new products receive support for hardware acceleration of real-time ray tracing, as well as operations using tensor cores.
The video cards received 4 GB of GDDR6 video memory with support for a 128-bit bus. Its frequency is not reported. The TDP values of the new product range from 35 to 80 W. What the final level of power consumption of the video card will be depends on the particular laptop manufacturer.
The GA107 GPU in its full version uses 2560 CUDA cores, 80 tensor cores and 20 RT cores. The declared operating frequency range of the GPU is from 1035 to 1695 MHz.

The mobile GeForce RTX 3050 is based on a stripped-down version of the GA107 chip: with 2048 CUDA cores, 64 tensor and 16 RT cores. The GPU of this model operates in the range from 1057 to 1740 MHz. Like the desktop version, this variation also received 4 GB of GDDR6 video memory with support for a 128-bit bus. The declared TDP range of the new product is the same 35–80 W.
All GeForce RTX 30 series mobile video cards, including the mobile 3050, support PCI Express 4.0 and HDMI 2.1 interfaces.

NVIDIA said that the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti provides a much higher level of performance compared to its predecessor, the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti. Thanks to support for AI anti-aliasing DLSS, the new product is able to provide more than 60 FPS even in games with ray tracing.
It is expected that the cost of laptops with GeForce RTX 3050 graphics cards will be below $1000, becoming a relatively affordable RTX solution for the mass segment.
