MSI Pro Max 271QPHW E14: a monitor that reduces eye strain without sacrificing performance

MSI has introduced the Pro Max 271QPHW E14, placing emphasis not only on hardware but also on long-term viewing comfort. The device is designed for users who spend extended periods in front of a screen and want to reduce eye fatigue without compromising image quality.

Display and performance

The monitor features a 27-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, offering a balanced combination of sharp visuals and manageable system load. A 144 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms (MPRT) response time make it suitable for both work and gaming.

Support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync eliminates screen tearing. The display covers 93% of the DCI-P3 color space and 121% of sRGB, with a contrast ratio of 1500:1. Brightness reaches 300 nits, which is sufficient for indoor use, especially with the anti-glare coating.

Technologies to reduce eye strain

The standout feature is circular polarization, which softens the emitted light and makes it closer to natural perception. This helps reduce eye strain during prolonged use.

The monitor also includes TUV Rheinland certification, DC dimming to eliminate flickering, and hardware-based blue light reduction.

Additionally, it offers built-in vision self-check tools such as an Amsler grid and astigmatism tests, along with posture reminders to encourage healthier working habits.

Connectivity and usability

Connectivity options include HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.2a, and USB-C with support for video transmission and up to 65W power delivery, allowing a laptop to be connected with a single cable.

A built-in KVM switch enables control of two devices using one keyboard and mouse setup.

The adjustable stand supports height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. Built-in speakers are sufficient for basic use, though external audio solutions will provide a better experience.

Pricing

The monitor is priced at around 1300 yuan (approximately $188) on JD.com. Considering its features and focus on eye care, it presents a well-balanced option for everyday use.
