Google adds Gemini AI to Messages and text summarization in Android Auto

BMW Android Auto

Google introduced a number of updates to Android even before the start of the MWC exhibition. Highlights include Gemini’s integration with the Messages app and its AI text summary feature for drivers.

Messages app users will now be able to access Google’s chatbot without leaving the messaging app. Android Auto has also been updated with artificial intelligence features to help minimize distractions on the road.

If an in-app group chat breaks up the flow of messages or someone sends you long texts, Android Auto automatically summarizes the messages and offers a shorter version for you to listen to.

The AI also suggests responses and actions based on notifications, such as providing ETAs so you can respond quickly and focus on driving.
