AMD will soon introduce AI-powered scaling technology

3dmark AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.2

AMD laboratories continue to work on improving its own image scaling technologies. AMD CTO, Mark Papermaster, confirmed that they will introduce a method based on artificial intelligence algorithms in the foreseeable future. Note that unlike competing technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS and Intel XeSS, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution does not use artificial intelligence algorithms.

With the 3rd Generation RDNA GPUs, which power the Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards, AMD has significantly improved matrix performance. It is interesting to note that foreign colleagues suggested the possibility of releasing their own scaling technology based on artificial intelligence in materials devoted to the performance of the Radeon RX 7900 XT/XTX. Perhaps the official announcement of this technology from AMD will happen soon.
