You can now play Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 in browser
24.11.25
The cult strategy game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 can be launched directly in the browser. The development team working on the Chrono Divide project has ported the game engine to the web environment, thanks to which Red Alert 2 runs in Chrome, Edge, Safari and even in mobile browsers. This is reported by the PC Gamer publication.
Support for Firefox is also announced, but the authors advise avoiding this browser due to noticeably lower performance. Chrono Divide recreates the original maps and allows you to play in cross-platform multiplayer, including the ability to use modifications. There is no single-player campaign mode yet – its development is ongoing.
According to the team, Chrono Divide was originally an experiment designed to show that a full-fledged RTS can run in the browser. Now the goal is to achieve maximum compliance with the working logic and behavior of the Red Alert 2 engine.
To launch the game, you need to import the original files. Chrono Divide automatically suggests links to the necessary data, which are hosted on the Internet Archive.
