Samsung DRAM Market Share Hits Nearly 40 Percent
17.08.26
In the first half of 2026, Samsung Electronics solidified its leadership in the DRAM memory sector. According to recent reports, the company’s global market share reached 39.4%, up 5.4 percentage points from last year’s 34%.
Why Samsung’s Market Share Is Growing
The company’s success stems from a combination of factors. There is sustained high demand for memory chips coupled with limited supply. Furthermore, the average cost of DRAM has risen significantly over the past year with no signs of cooling off, providing Samsung with opportunities for substantial revenue growth.
Performance in Other Segments
Positive momentum is evident beyond memory production. The company achieved the following results in the first half of the year:
- Smartphones: Global share reached 22% (+1.8 points year-over-year), largely due to the success of the Galaxy S26 series.
- TVs: Market share reached 30.6% (+1.5 points), driven by strong demand for premium Micro RGB and OLED lineups.
- Smartphone Displays: The company holds a 46.5% market share.
- Automotive Electronics: Samsung commands 13.9% of the digital dashboard market for vehicles.
Long-term partnerships play a key role in the company’s business stability. During the reporting period, the five largest customers for Samsung Electronics products included tech giants Apple, Alphabet, and Amazon, as well as Taiwan’s Supreme Electronics and Hong Kong’s Techtronic Industries.
The first-half results demonstrate that Samsung continues to maintain a strong foothold across several key technology markets. The growth in the DRAM business was particularly notable, where the combination of high demand and supply constraints allowed the company to boost its share to 39.4%. The company’s resilience is further supported by major corporate clients and business diversification, including the development of automotive electronics and proprietary robotics projects.
