Gears of War: E-Day Gets Limited Edition Xbox Controllers

Microsoft is expanding its gaming accessory lineup with the launch of two limited-edition wireless controllers for Xbox, designed to match the theme of the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day game.
New Gears of War Controllers
The first model, officially named Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition, features a brutal design: the device is equipped with black textured overlays that create a charred effect, accented by vibrant red inserts in the center.
The second version was developed in collaboration with the Xbox Design Lab. This variant stands out with a subtle aesthetic featuring a silver image of a skull and crossed Lancers (the iconic chainsaws from the franchise), allowing users to further customize certain elements.
Technically, the new controllers are compatible not only with Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles but also with Windows 10/11 PCs, as well as mobile devices and tablets.
8BitDo Charging Station
Alongside the gamepads, Microsoft introduced the 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock. It is designed specifically for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S controllers. Key features of the docking station include:
- Convenient magnetic alignment for the gamepad;
- A “drop-and-charge” fast charging system;
- Built-in protection against overheating and overcharging.
Pricing and Release Date
Official sales for all versions of the limited collection start on September 30. Pre-orders are already open for those looking to secure a device. Pricing is set at $89.99 in the US, £84.99 in the UK, and €89.99 in Europe.
The new collection serves as an exciting addition for fans of Gears of War, which is set to premiere on October 6. The controllers remain versatile, working with Xbox, Windows, and mobile devices. The optional charging station adds convenience, though it is primarily aimed at owners of multiple controllers.
