16.08.26
Developer Fairphone has officially confirmed the announcement date for its new smartphone, the Fairphone 6+. Following recent leaks that we reported on just yesterday, the information was officially released via the company’s social media channels: the device presentation will take place on August 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM CET (12:00 PM London, 2:00 PM Eastern Europe).
What Is Known About the Fairphone 6+
The Fairphone 6+ is an enhanced version of the standard Fairphone 6 model released last year. According to current data, the manufacturer has focused on increasing computing power and expanding multitasking capabilities.
Specifications and Technical Changes
The main technical changes in the “+” version concern the hardware platform and memory capacity. Compared to the previous year’s model, the following differences are expected:
- Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 vs. Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in the standard model.
- RAM: 12 GB vs. 8 GB in its predecessor.
- Design: New color palette, including a Cobalt Blue version.
Estimated Device Price
According to currently available data, the smartphone will be priced at 649 euros. For comparison, this is 50 euros more than the original launch price of the Fairphone 6 and 100 euros more than its current cost.
Comparing Fairphone 6 and 6+
It is currently confirmed that the devices are virtually identical in terms of external design and internal components, with the exception of the processor, RAM capacity, and color options. A detailed comparison of all aspects will be available immediately after the official event on August 18.
Fairphone is arguably the only smartphone model with modern hardware that allows anyone capable of holding a screwdriver to replace the battery themselves. These devices certainly have their following, and the Fairphone 6+ is expected to be in demand in Ukraine.
