Wearable comfort in the heat: Dyson HushJet Mini Cool replaces air conditioning on the go

Dyson has introduced a compact cooling solution for hot weather — the portable HushJet Mini Cool fan. The device is designed with mobility and everyday use in mind, delivering a powerful airflow in a highly portable form factor.

A miniature device with full-sized performance

Despite its extremely compact size (38 mm diameter) and light weight of 212 grams, the device is equipped with a high-speed motor capable of reaching up to 65,000 RPM. This enables a strong directional airflow reaching speeds of up to 90 km/h, providing noticeable cooling even in outdoor environments.

Dyson’s HushJet airflow system helps streamline air movement and reduce turbulence, resulting in a more stable air stream. It also reduces noise levels — around 52 dBA at the lowest setting.

Flexible usage scenarios

The model was designed as a versatile everyday device and supports multiple operating modes:

  • handheld use for walking or commuting;
  • desktop mode using the docking base;
  • neck-worn mode via the Neck Dock attachment, directing airflow toward the face while keeping hands free.

This makes the device adaptable to different daily situations.

Battery life and design

A built-in 5000 mAh battery provides up to 6 hours of operation depending on the selected power level. Users can choose between 5 speed settings, along with a Boost mode for maximum airflow.

Charging is done via USB-C and takes about 3 hours. The design follows Dyson’s signature aesthetic, focusing on minimalism with bold color accents.

Price and line development

The Dyson HushJet Mini Cool is already available for purchase at $99. The company also plans to expand the ecosystem with additional accessories, including various mounting options for different use cases such as backpacks and strollers.
