Patrice Désilets, one of the creators of the original Assassin’s Creed, is preparing to unveil his new historical action game, 1666: Amsterdam. The game transports players to 17th-century Amsterdam, where by day you will explore the city and uncover the secrets of mysterious creatures, and by night, you will face them in dynamic combat. The game offers a unique take on adventure and the battle against mysterious forces lurking within a historical setting.

Mechanics and Gameplay

Gameplay is divided into two main stages that are closely intertwined:

• Daytime: Players control Noah, exploring Amsterdam, searching for clues, and identifying mysterious creatures known as the Originals. Active use of abilities can draw unwanted attention, requiring careful handling.
• Aaron: This character reveals alternative ways to progress and prepare for encounters.
• Nighttime: The Originals begin their hunt, turning the city into an arena for battle. Each creature possesses unique traits, requiring individual tactics.

The official Early Access release for PC is set for August 25. The game will be available for purchase via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Developers from Panache Digital Games state that the current version includes approximately 15 hours of gameplay, covering the first part of the story campaign. The project is expected to remain in Early Access for about one year, though this timeframe may be adjusted during development.
