The OnePlus Watch 2 smartwatch has two operating systems and two chipsets

OnePlus Watch 2

At MWC 2024, OnePlus presented its new OnePlus Watch 2, running Google’s Wear OS 4 operating system and another “economical” RTOS operating system. These Times boasts a 1.43-inch screen with a resolution of 326 ppi and a stainless steel body.

AA special feature of the OnePlus Watch 2 is its battery life in standard mode – up to 100 hours. This was made possible thanks to the use of two chipsets, each of which runs a separate operating system. The first chipset is used for RTOS (Real-Time Operating System), which is responsible for the basic functions of the watch and ensures its stable operation in standby mode. When the user wants to open the time to navigate the interface or launch third-party applications, the watch automatically switches to the Wear OS operating system.

This approach provides an optimal balance between watch duration and functionality, allowing the user to use the watch for extended hours without the need for constant charging.

The 100-hour battery life can be extended even further in Power Saving Mode, whicheliminates the Wear OS element and only allows the watch to track motion and exercise, messages, sleep, and GPS running and cycling profiles . In this format, the times will last about 12 days

The times are available in only one size and in two colors – Black Steel and Radiant Steel. It weighs 80g including the strap, is waterproof to 5ATM and can withstand extreme heat up to 70°C and extreme cold down to -40°C. There are no featuresrestricted for OnePlus phone users, meaning any Android smartphone with OHealth can workwith OnePlus Watch 2 smoothly.
