The new JBL Vienna combines home acoustics and a decorative display

JBL continues to experiment with home audio formats, introducing the JBL Vienna device to the Chinese market. This is an interior acoustic system where design plays as important a role as sound quality. The key feature of the new product is the integrated 18.5-inch display, which turns the process of listening to music into a visual show.

Design

JBL Vienna is a stationary home speaker, created with an emphasis on aesthetic pleasure. Instead of the usual body, the device is equipped with a large transparent screen that displays the lyrics of the song being played right in front of the user. Using an innovative panel allows you to forget about your smartphone, concentrating on music and visualization.

The screen is covered with tempered glass with high light conductivity. The effect of “spreading” text is achieved thanks to the play of light and shadow when displaying the words of the composition. Users can choose one of 9 preset design themes or set their own photos as a background.

Technical characteristics of the audio system

Despite the design orientation, the sound capabilities of JBL Vienna are at a serious level. The system produces 2.1-channel sound with a peak power of 100 watts. The filling is impressive with its components.

Configuration of acoustic elements

According to the manufacturer, the combination of such emitters provides dense bass and clear high frequencies, making the system suitable for jazz and classical compositions.

Functional capabilities

In addition to playing music, the device acts as an atmospheric element of the interior. There are 11 built-in meditative scenarios (rain, ocean noise) with corresponding visual effects. In the photo album mode, the screen shows a slide show of the user’s personal images.

The column supports duplicating the screen from smartphones based on iOS and Android, and can also work as a spectacular clock with time display in two time zones.

Release date and price

At the moment, the column is presented exclusively for the Chinese market. Its cost is about $1,200 (1,200 USD, 1,140 EUR (51,700 UAH)). There is no information about the global release of JBL Vienna on the international market yet.
