The Marshall Stockwell III combines a long run time with a modular design

Marshall Stockwell III

Marshall has announced the new Stockwell III portable speaker system. Externally, the device is practically no different from the previous generation released a few years ago, but inside the speaker received a number of noticeable changes, the main of which was a significant increase in battery life.

Autonomy doubled

One of the key updates to the Stockwell III was a new battery that allows you to play music for up to 40 hours without recharging. For comparison, the previous version provided about 20 hours of work. In addition, the battery is now made in a removable format, so the user will be able to replace it themselves if necessary or use a spare battery to continue the operation of the device.

The appearance of this design is connected with the new European requirements for the maintainability of electronics. Earlier, a similar approach was used by Marshall in its wireless headphones.

An additional advantage was the possibility of using the built-in battery as an external power source. Through the USB-C port, the speaker can charge smartphones and other compatible devices.

Improved maintainability and hull protection

In addition to the battery, the manufacturer provided for the possibility of replacing a number of other structural elements. Owners will be able to replace the carrying strap, protective side panels and silicone case if necessary. This approach should simplify device maintenance and extend its service life.

Engineers have also updated the protection against external influences. If the previous model met the IPX4 standard, Stockwell III received a higher level of protection IP55, which provides better resistance to dust and water splashes.

New controls

The changes affected the management system. An updated “M” button appeared on the case, designed for quick switching between custom sound profiles. A separate playback control key allows you to pause music, start tracks and switch between compositions without having to refer to your smartphone.

Release date and price

The start of sales of the Marshall Stockwell III in the United States is scheduled for August 4, 2026. The novelty will appear in the manufacturer’s official store at a price of $249. So far, the company has not disclosed the release date of the device in other markets.
